How much do group fitness instructors get paid in Nevada?
LaRue,
Thank you for your answer. So funny that $25 per class seems low because it’s the most I’ve ever been paid. I’ve been teaching for 9 yrs and have a pretty big following too. Even when I taught in Vegas, it was only $17 per class at a big chain gym. I wonder if it’s different in Nevada because they don’t require their group fitness instructors to be certified. I will only hire certified instructors because I’ve seen the difference. I will take your advice and ask them how much they’d like to be paid. Thanks again!

Hi Karen, to my mind that seems LOW, but that just highlights the point that the amount to pay an instructor is very ‘locale specific.’ I agree that perhaps the best way to gauge this is to try to find out what other gyms/studios in your immediate area pay. Also, when you begin to search for instructors, ASK them their expected pay (not that this means this is what you will pay them, but at least this gives you a basis for comparison).
I hope that this helps.

Hi Karen,
In addition to Susan’s suggestions, I would also use as a reference the gym where you currently work at. You can go by what they charge per class and then get an idea of what you can charge for your class. Experience of the trainer and the type of classes you are planning to offer will play a big part on how much you can charge and also pay any trainers who will be working for you and teaching these classes.
Also feel free to check answers that were given to similar questions asked in the past in this forum.
Best,
