How many of you Personal Trainers out there can see yourself doing this job for the rest of your life?
Hi Christine,
I definitely see myself doing this job
1) for as long as I am able to
2) for as long as I have the desire to
(in other words ..for a long time!)
Once about a time (i.e. the 80’s) personal training wasn’t considered a ‘real job’; it was something you do on the side.
Now-with a more health conscious population and a desire to ‘remain active ‘ the possibility of a career as a personal trainer is a possibility.
Good luck – hope you see yourself doing this for the rest of your life!
I love this job. It’s more than a career, its a passion. I will do this job for the rest of my life or until my body allows! I think the market is changing and there are now so many personal trainers of all different ages. Provided customers still want me I will carry on doing this job!

Hey Christine,
18.5 years and honestly there has NEVER been a day when I don’t feel so blessed and lucky to be in this field!
Where else can you make your own hours, meet new people everyday and make a positive difference in the lives of those you train as well as the world?
Where else can you have a former client tell you how much you’ve changed their lives, or that at their new gym another trainer/group ex instructor complimented them on their form, and they smile and mention…YOU?!! Amazing!
Now, this is not to say that it can’t be frustrating and difficult at times (heaven knows it can), but the rewards are far too great to walk away from it!
I anticipate being 108 (God willing) and still saying “5 more”, “relax your shoulders”, “breathe” and my clients favorite….”Lets stretch”! 😀
– Trainer Cheers and Blessings!
