As an independent contractor, it has been my personal rule to see 5 clients at most per day.
A true average for me is 3-4 clients, typically with at most 2 in a row, within close proximity of each other. At the rates I’m availed of, this is the best way for me to guarantee utmost focus on each client’s needs.
Its not so much how many people I see but, how many hours I work. I keep my days at no more than 10 working hours, and no more than 5 hours straight. Being a very enthusiastic trainer, when my energy levels dip, so does does the atmosphere around me. I won’t allow myself to “force” enthusiasm just for the sake of a dollar.
At this point in my life, I am only able to train from 6:30-10:30 am, Monday to Friday (4 clients per day). My husband and I have no nanny, no regular babysitter, etc..just some really good help from in-laws fill in the gaps from when I’m done, to when he goes to work.
While I am working predominantly as one-on-one trainer, I do conduct semi-private and group sessions, as well as assist in our bootcamp, so obviously that increases the number of people I work with weekly.
