In my experience, boot camp participants prefer more hard-hitting, intense beats. I think every major music company has created mixes especially for boot camps, usually starting at 135-140 bpm and going as high as 160 bpm. Ultimately, music type and bpm relies on how you’ve planned the session in terms of content and intensity.
There’s more than a few online group exercise music sites where you can purchase fitness music geared towards a boot camp class.
It would depend on the types of exercises and style of boot camp classes you teach.
I use music as background to the workout and we don’t perform exercises to the bpm. I pick from whatever I have on my iTunes and make a boot camp playlist. What I use for my classes might not fit the clientele that you have in your classes. (basically heavy metal rock) I also use my gym boss or my WorkoutMuse pro app for timed intervals.
