I am not more or less active. I do not train and use it for recovery. I believe in progressive training which entails adequate and substantial recover times and methods. Fitness has gotten to be such a hot trend that we sometimes forget why we are exercising and our goals. Anyways my activity level will depend on what others are doing and what I want to do.
For me, its family and friend time! And that means cookouts and pool time! There are swim races, splash contests, dive contests, water polo matches, dunk contests, etc. Anything to have fun and cool! The benefit, lots of great cardio and strength, all while laughing and having a great time!
And don’t think a cookout means hot dogs, hamburgers and chips. Sure those are available, we are American afterall. But so are shrimp and chicken kabobs, fruit salad, caprese salad, humus and veggies for dipping, lentil and rice sides, etc. For dessert, blueberries, strawberries and real whipped cream are a healthier and patriotic treat. But to be honest, its usually a stop for ice cream at the local ice shop on our way to view the fireworks. Afterall, the 4th of July is a US summertime holiday and that means its ok to have a splurge to celebrate summer and the birth of a nation!

What I do is play…with the pets, children and adults who like to get up and go. I have never been able to just sit and watch.
I love fresh fruit; especially, watermelon and cherries when I am allowed to spit out the seeds.
Fun, fun, fun, being myself.
