I want to provide a referral gift certificate good for a free session to each of my current clients. A client would give her gift card to someone she thinks will have a genuine interest in my services. For that one complimentary session, what is your best practice with the signed forms to keep yourself covered without burdening your prospect?
Hi Gwynn. Whenever I work with someone – whether it be a charged session, a free session, or even a demonstration session (for example at a health fair), I have the person sign a waiver. What I have decided to do with my own practice is have an ‘abbreviated version’ of my forms for such occasions as health fairs and free sessions so that there are not necessarily ‘volumes’ of forms to complete when we are having such a short interaction. In my opinion, it doesn’t ‘burden’ or slow-down the process unnecessarily, yet it still gives me the kind of protection that I want and need.
I hope that this helps.
