How do you handle Beachbody in your gym?
I own a medium sized private 24 hour gym with classes, training and basic memberships. A few of my trainers, instructors and even clients are becoming Beachbody coaches. How do you support and embrace them while protecting clients from sales pressure? I don’t have a problem with the program and feel that supporting their fitness goals is important no matter what they are. But I am struggling to figure out where I fit as a facility owner. One long term client has asked to do a party at the gym and agreed to it. But I worry that there will be confusion on our business goal or pressure on the members.
If I was in your shoes I would not allow my trainers to solicit my members with other products such as Beachbody because it would fall under the non-solicitation part of their contract (I hope you have one in place). I would never agree to have a party at my gym promoting and supporting a competitor (because this is what Beachbody is to you). Just like you said, there could be a confusion about your business goals/model/mission and also what the members can chose the system to follow or buy at your gym (especially if you are not part of the Beachbody business) and potential loss of revenue could occur. I think you are in a tough position right now.
