After almost 30 years in the industry I am working on hiring a trainer to work for me. So far I have had little luck in finding a good fit or if I have there has been little interest in working the hours I need (weekends, early morning and evening) help with. I would love to be able to service a larger client base, expanding my business seems to be a perfect solution. Any ideas of where to look to hire?
Great answers. LinkedIn is a good thought. When I would hire trainers I looked carefully at the following:
–accuracy in your prospect’s credentials
–accuracy in your prospect’s academic history
–accuracy in your prospect’s work history
–check carefully with references
Most important, have your prospect take you through a cardiovascular, a resistance training and a stretching workout. Pay careful attention to your prospect’s demeanor, communication skills, and his/her quick “I don’t know” when you ask a question out of the scope of practice.
