After almost 30 years in the industry I am working on hiring a trainer to work for me. So far I have had little luck in finding a good fit or if I have there has been little interest in working the hours I need (weekends, early morning and evening) help with. I would love to be able to service a larger client base, expanding my business seems to be a perfect solution. Any ideas of where to look to hire?
Growing your business is a good ‘headache’ to have, but at the same time it creates other issues, just like the one you are describing in your question. Finding the right people is always a difficult project, especially if your reputation depends on them. Here are a few options for you:
-Post here just as you have done
-Fitnessjobs.com, exercisejobs.com, gymjobs.com, CareerBuilder.com, monster.com
-Post at the local Universities (Northwestern is a good place to start from)
-Hire interns and mentor them the way you like
Maybe you have tried all of the above, but you need to be patient and screen everyone you interview the best way you can, so you hire the most qualified and better suited for your business. Good luck and I hope this helps!
