Check out American Barre Technique’s Barre Certification. You can teach barre anywhere with their certificate! Here’s their website: www.americanbarretechnique.com
I think Sue has a point.
It used to be that one would get a broad ‘certification’ for group exercise, and then take CEC training in various areas. But as the fitness industry grows it is not lost to people that one can make a lot more money by trademarking a style and offering a certification, and thus we find ourselves awash in them.
I know nothing about gofigure: it may be really rigorous. I make a general point that there are a lot of them and the quality varies a lot.
If you are interested in teaching Barre go for it, but a nationally recognized major certification is definitely a good thing to have to anchor any of the other trainings you choose to take. And then choose whatever specialties work for you that also have weight in the markets in which you wish to work.
Wow, first it was the Daily, then the Barre, now the Gofigure!
It seems to be the way this industry is going since there are no regulations on “certifications”
I would suggest also getting a certification that is Nationally Accredited in the fitness world such as ACE, ACSM, NASM to name a few. It will give you a much broader client base and larger business potential.
