I’m a solo Trainer running Boot Camps. I’ve heard of trainers who charge per month based on number of workouts attended? I like the idea and flexibility it allows. Can you detail the process for me? Do they sign in? Do you pro rate a mid month entry? Do you hold classes every day? How do you bill? thanks.
I’ve heard that one should keep pricing simple and I try to do that, however, I have a few more options than the punch card. I do a 6 class card for $60 or a 12 class card for $109, however, I also offer boot camp in 4 week sessions either 2 or 3 days a week for a discounted rate of 84.00 for 3 days or 56.00 for two days. I live in a rural location so my prices are not as high as some other areas. I do before and after assessments for those who purchase sessions. These are free of charge which adds value but also leads to better client retention.
I have people sign in and generally leave them in charge of their own punch card but have also seen small alphabetical files used for keeping the cards. If you are starting out then I suggest picking one time slot M,W,F and then adding others as that fills up.
My most successful marketing has been offering to do “fitness fundraisers” for local schools. I hold a one month boot camp where a significant portion (if not all) of the money goes to the charity. I include assessments and take before photos. The school PTO advertises the boot camp to all the parents and to community members (newspaper) and I run the camp. I do lots of games and partner activities and keep it beginner friendly. At the end of the month I have quite a few clients who continue for a long time. I am slowly building the tradition of offering the “community fitness fundraiser” once a year.
