Perhaps this period of contemplation for you is a needed process in your growth? Often we do not change when we are comfortable, therefore discomfort makes us reach greater highs. Being the CHANGE as Gandhi suggested may take a lifetime. I have found the best rejuvenator is challenging myself to an attainable realistic smaller step. Most self aware people go through slumps in motivation, it is normal, natural and valuable for growth. Actually, you are exactly where you need to be to be your best.
In addition to the great suggestions given, I can only recommend that you challenge your clients with various modes of activity. If she’s cycling, go hiking. If she’s cycling, go swimming. If he’s free weight training, do some workouts on a Total Gym. Break up the routine and that may help break up the monotony. Use your creativity to create a different workout environment. Some may not be able to afford the luxury of taking a month or two off for travel, so create a “change of scenery” in your home space.
I agree with all the ideas that have been given here. But the one I agree with most is that you can step up and be the one who sets the standard or BE THE CHANGE. So often we wait to achieve our true potential because we feel the need to have partners or others that are like minded. if you stand out and be the person your looking for others will come to you. Also coming to this forum will help you share your thoughts and gain new perspective. There will always be negativity in the world and it’s up to us to filter through the darkness and see the light.
I agree with Joanne…Be the change! I live in Alaska’s second largest city ,population 50,000, huge I know. There is never a reason to let population size or negativity get to you, it is your choice to be who you are and nothing should affect that. If you need a break, take one and recharge. Remember why you do what you do, that should be motivating enough.
