How do the CEC hours work? Is 1.0 10 contact hours or 1 contact hour for CEC purposes? What is 0.10?
Each organization credits CECs in different ways. Most do take the contact hours into consideration and then give that a numeric value.
ACE 1 hour = .1 CEC
ACSM 1 hour = 1 CEC
ACE requires 2.0 CECs every two years to renew. That is 20 contact hours according to their system. (I get 20 contact hours about every 3 months, but I love to learn.)
ACSM requires 40 contact hours over 3 years.
I haven’t checked NASM, NSCA, etc. lately, but they all very similar in renewal CECs. Some de-value CECs obtained from sources not approved of by their organizaiton. Usually you have to submit non-approved CEC courses for them to give you a value.
