How do I charge a former client who lives out of state for a fitness plan/ consultation?
Hi Loren. I agree that using PayPal is a good way to go. You receive immediate notice of payment receipt, and there is no real issue with waiting for a check to clear etc. Also, if necessary, you can make refunds through PayPal just as easily. Their system allows your client to pay “cash” or credit card (without your having to have a credit card merchant account which I think is GREAT!).

Hello Loren,
PayPal is very secure and trustworthy however, they do charge a small percent for the transaction and you might take that under consideration. Personal check would be another choice since you know your client. Once payment has cleared then your ready to give your client your services.
Sincerely,
Michael
Hello Loren,
Wow, that’s great, talk about client/trainer loyalty.
I would go with the payment system you are most comfortable using; for me, that would be a check. Since you have a history with this client, you also have a previous payment plan which you may want to continue using.
Good luck and go with your gut feeling.
