It seems that whenever I use a gym facility I always see the same scenarios:People using a bench to rest their weight in between sets, people sitting on a bench talking, people dropping their weights after grunting.
Is there not any review for patrons when they join a gym?
I personally only train outdoors, so when I am forced inside I find so many interesting human behaviors going on other than actual working out.
1. Considering the facility management is responsibility for its patrons and their safety – Speaking to them regarding this issue to raise awareness should be done initially. Many times they are unaware of this “activity” and can be glad to hear you voice. Hopefully they will act upon it.
2. Avoid/Ignore – iPod and Focus – may help
3. Confront the Person – May work but likely not depending on your role in gym.
4. Leave the facility. Start a trend and stand up for something you do not like. If paying customers are constantly leaving the facility – it would certainly get management attention.
