How can I use mobile devices to help market my gym?
Off the bat, you’ll want to make sure your website is also mobile friendly. Google ranks websites based on how mobile friendly they are so you want to make sure this is taken care of otherwise your site both on a desktop and on mobile won’t rank well and people won’t be able to find your gym.
Also, look to incorporate text messaging into your marketing. Most everyone texts these days so it’s an easy (and cheap) way to get in front of prospects. This is another great article I’ve referenced when I was considering texting prospects: https://www.ezfacility.com/blog/7-benefits-of-using-text-messaging-for-g…
You can also have a mobile app created for your gym. There are a lot of companies out there that offer to build your app as part of their services which is usually cheaper than going to a developer yourself. Here’s a good article that talks about the benefits of having an app: https://www.ezfacility.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/branded-app-whitep…
Hope these resources help!
Hey Tyler,
There are several ways to leverage your gym website as a mobile marketing tool:
1. Make sure your website is mobile-friendly. On Google, mobile-friendly websites are listed before sites that are not optimized for phones and tablets. It is important that your site is listed on the first page on Google if you want to be found among competing gyms in the area.
2.Clearly display your gym’s physical address and phone number on the website. A click-to-call phone number makes it easy for new visitors to contact you and learn more.
3.Embed forms and calendars to allow potential members to request more information or sign-up for a free class.
I work for a member management software called Zen Planner and we have a popular 10 Step Marketing Guide that may be helpful as you start to promote your gym. Feel free to download the guide here ┬╗

The SINGLE best thing you can do to make your business grow is learn about SEO. If you can perfect that and get better at it – I guarantee your business will skyrocket.
I’ve self taught myself about SEO through reading, audiobooks and youtube. It works! I have 3 full-time trainers and we’re all busy ALL the time. We actually “fire” non serious clients. Business is that good to where, if we get clients who are not serious, not following our plans we refund them for used sessions and say “come back when you’re ready.”
SEO, SEO, SEO. I love the book how google work, any books that will teach how to build backlinks naturally, learn about white hat SEO and basically anything that has the word SEO and has good ratings is worth reading.
Remember, S.E.O. If you can rank high on google in your area, you will be very successful. My company does and I didn’t pay for it, I just did it like I mentioned above. Self taught, took awhile but it’s well worth it. If you just hate that sort of stuff then find an SEO expert who is legit in your area and pay them to do it.
If you can rank high on Google – you will get non-stop steady flow of clients. Make sure that your website is mobile friendly (which is part of having good SEO). Also use a social media that your clients are on. You don’t have to use all of them. – just what most of your clients use. For me it’s facebook. I don’t think you need twitter, instagram etc. UNLESS you already use them for yourself OR if you do see that most of your clients are on there. Whichever social platform you use, use it! In my opinion if you create it and don’t use it then it looks bad on your company – so pick one or several of them but USE IT.
Good luck!
Web lead generators like Thumbtack and IDEAFIT are great ways to use your phone to access clients and bring more members into your gym. Also, any leads you have you need to save on your phone and you can send out a mass txt about the new services or specials you are offering. Of course, Facebook is a decent way to gain clients as long as you know what your market is.
