getting started is never easy, and just having moved to a new area makes it even more challenging.
I looked at your website and saw that you have a compelling personal story that should enable you to connect with women in similar situations. There are often fundraisers for cancer, and that may be an opportunity to invite people into your studio. You could contact doctor’s offices with a targeted brochure. You need to get out into the community as much as possible, and make sure that you are identifiable as a personal trainer.
An open house at your studio is another option (as long as you have food – sad but true). And just to have a client to show for, you can even offer to a friend to train them for free or a much reduced rate to be able to point to a reference.
I am sure you get many more ideas. Hang in there as you get started.
In addition to Karin’s suggestions, try to find networking groups so you can make some new connections. Another idea for you would be to donate some sessions at different fundraising events around your area (any nonprofit organization would be an excellent candidate for this type of events). Another idea is to do a press release (your town’s chamber of commerce is a good example or a local magazine/newspaper), so you can maximize your exposure in your community.

In addition to the excellent responses by Karin and Harris I can only add that perhaps connecting with local health care providers may open a potential client base. Hospitals with rehab facilities & private rehab centers are a good place to start. Harris’s suggestion of a press release is a great idea. It would be a great way to get your availability out to the community.

You can also look into advertisers such as Citydeals, Amazon local, Groupon etc which offer revenue sharing options with no cost up front and you pay nothing out of pocket. They collect leads and revenue and pay you a portion of that. It’s not necessarily a great money maker but it gives you exposure and can help you secure new clients and build your client base.
You can also advertise and hold free educational seminars about specific topics, and then introduce your services at that time when appropriate. Along with this idea, you can partner up with some sponsors (various specialty doctors, massage therapists, chiropractors, nutritionalists, sporting good and fitness stores, etc) which you can build a network system for mutual referrals and have another professional help you with the seminars.
