How big is the restroom/locker room/changing room in your facility, in relation to your facility?

Fitness FacilitiesHealth ClubsBusiness

I am opening a larger facility to accomidate the growing participation at Hard Corps (business brand) and have found a great new location. Its big and open and tall so, for me, its perfect... except for the bathrooms. There are two with single toilet and sink but no shower area. There are spare rooms that I could make into his/hers locker rooms but I haven't decided the necessity yet.

I personally think having a good locker room is important. A lot of people want to be able to go work out and clean up there. I know clients who are only able to work out before they dash off to something else. Let's say your gym is the halfway point, they won't want to drive home to get ready so a lot of us would skip the workout altogether.
Plus it will be a good investment to let your facility grow into if you expand and start bringing in excessive members
All gyms I attend have at least 10 showers (each locker room) a family changing area, too many lockers to count and other amenities like hair dryers, lotion, q tips, and soap dispensers in the shower areas.
Good luck with you gym!

We have a small changing room and a bathroom. It gets the job done but more is always nice.

Interesting question. I've seen a huge variety in this ratio, from way-too-small to a-bit-overdone. I wonder if there is an industry standard based on expected membership numbers.
