How are you setting examples for your clients or students?
The better question for some would be, how are you not setting an example for your clients? From time to time, it is good to look at what we are not doing well.
For example, how often do you check equipment before having a client use it? Checking bolts and nuts are securely fastened. Checking the bolts on the ends of olympic bars even? Are cables getting kinked or showing signs of fatigue? Cables show obvious signs of fatigue before they break, do you know what to look for?
Or are you really listening to your clients? Asking good questions during workouts? Sometimes we can even forget the simple questions. Like, how does that weight (grip, bar, pad, etc.) feel to you?
And are we reviewing their programs often enough. Looking at their progress or lack of progress? We can always find a way to do something a little better if we take the time to think about it.
