I provide fitness and lunch and learns in a large company. I would like to bring in a massage therapist as an independant contractor. I am trying to figure out how I charge the clients for massages in the workplace? I beleive they should be paying me then I pay the massage therapist. I am not sure what percentage to give the massage therapist and percentage my company should take for providing this opportunity to them including the software I pay for that employees will register for their time slots.
You should do a market analysis, which sounds like a big thing, but isn’t. Check the going rate that massage therapists are being paid by outlets like Massage Envy and what such outlets charge in your area This is basically a few phone calls or pop in and ask directly.
As it sounds like your only overhead for the massage will be the therapist, you can pay better than the outlets. This will depend on what you are charging as well. But you will have someone coming to your clients (travel time), bringing a massage table, and providing a service that requires certification and licensing. If you don’t pay them well, they won’t be sticking around for long.
