As a Holistic Nutritionist, my question echos the other fit pros: How fast is fast? I do not encourage my clients to lose more than 2 pounds a week, and if your client’s goal is to lose faster, it may be time for another assessment, reevaluating their goals and making sure they are attainable in a timely manner.
I would also suggest encouraging your client to utilize a food/nutrition journal.
Also there is an awesome formula on fat loss/weight loss that are in most certification manuals that you can calculate exactly how much weight your client would need to lose to hit a certain bodyfat percentage…its Fabulous!!
For the record, I never see/train my clients more than 3 days a week and if they do want to do any type of additional workouts, I would suggest some type of aerobics class or a day (or two) of active rest. Whether you train your clients for 30 or 60 minutes sometimes you have to have them do the math on their results. For example:
24 hours in a day x 7 days a week = 168 hours in a week
I train you 3 x a week 1 hour = 3 hours a week
You therefore have = 165 hours a week (- sleeping on your results)
Therefore Dear Client….what are YOU doing to ensure your results?
I hope this helps!
