Hello! Opening a fitness studio & need feedback on how “unlimited” class packages have helped or hurt your business. Thanks!
Originally I had planned to offer single class rates and multiple class purchases. I realize there are clients who will buy an unlimited pass and then only participate a few times per month, but there are others who will come every day and ultimately, they’ll end up paying just a few dollars per class. Just not sure it’s possible to cover overhead in these cases. Would love feedback from other studio owners.
I’m not an owner, but I work for a place that has unlimited class passes. This could be your bread and butter aka big dollar clients, because they will stay with you, rather than having to continually sell a single class or a little class package. The way he has done his accounting is to figure out the minimum number of regular unlimited members he needs in order to pay his rent, and ensured that the capacity of his equipment exceeds his minimum requirements to pay rent. For example (I am not going to post his actual numbers) if he knows he needs 100 regular members, and he can accommodate 10 people per class, and he assumes the regulars will come twice a week, then he needs at least 20 classes a week just for the regulars, so he has 30 classes on the schedule to have the needed capacity. Again, not his actual numbers, but simple math.
