Have you seen the CrossFit Video that many pros are upset about?
What do you think of this crossfit video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BDDyxXyf6UU
Crossfit just scares me- between the preaching of high intensity for SIX DAYS A WEEK and then, the inexperienced “strength coaches” I just say no. I get a lot flack for it too working in an Army gym, but I just keep saying it’s not a safe program and I can’t endorse it being done.
Crossfit has been sued before for their structure and their answer is always the same “it was someone who isn’t fully accredited with their program”. Yet, they only train people for a weekend to run their “program” what are they expecting?
Lastly, any program that has to preach that it DOES NOT cause Rhabdoacidosis (which they cutely nick-named “Uncle Rhabdo”) needs some serious second inspections. Then, add in the overuse injuries from working out 6 days in a row or the serious consequences of not being fully recovered before doing Olympic lifts or jumping plyo boxes (seen a few broken backs here on post due to this). I will never drink this kool-aid.
