Have you heard of ‘Automated Personal Training’?
I just recently heard about automated personal training http://www.kokofitclub.com/. My first reaction was to laugh. Has anybody had any experience with it?
This sounds a lot like FitLinxx, but with a little more thought put into it (at least with the automatic progression in the difficulty of the program). Even though a trainer is required to do build a program for the client, once a client is set up on FitLinxx, the likelihood of seeing them again for an update on their program is slim. Most clients ends up doing the same thing for the next 5 years, using the same amount of weights they’ve used since the first day they got set up on FitLinxx.
I’ve not had any positive experience putting any of my clients on FitLinxx (most of the other trainers I work with hates it as well and we all discourage our clients from using it); I highly doubt I would ever recommend any other forms of automated personal training.
There’s a kokfitclub in my hometown…
The concept makes sense – the machines keep track of your weights / reps and adjusts from workout to workout. However, it has to be pretty generic in term of it’s program design… and no freeweights to speak of. Nothing compares to having a human being design a program for you and motivate you along the way.
