I have not; but, I know others who have and are keeping up with their lifestyles.
We all have limitations to deal with; please do what you know to be best for your health and the rest will follow.
Remember, it is the client’s workout, not yours; therefore, take advantage of paying close attention to the client when you need a break. No one will be the wiser.

Just came across your question — you posted 2 years ago. I gather you had your hip replaced? I’ve had a hip replacement in 2012. I took up rowing about 8-9 weeks out from surgery (did my own physical therapy). I had an anterior incision, which has a lower risk of dislocation during the healing days.
I choose not to run or do high-impact plyometrics training because it wears down the prosthetic faster (mine is titanium and cobalt chromium with a Vitamin-E doped cup). I can erg, cycle, hike, scull, crew, swim, sail, and do squats and lunges.
I’ve talked to individuals who won’t do squats or lunges, however, because their doctor told them not to. If that were me, I’d get a second opinion. I think people like to rely on their doctor’s advice as a excuse not to do something. I don’t know a lot of people who just love doing those squats.
Granted, your doctor may be spot-on with h/her advice but maybe your doctor just doesn’t want to be liable for giving you advice that turns out bad for you; hence getting a second opinion. That’s just my opinion.
