Would you please participate in a short, 20-minute survey to help us better understand your nutrition knowledge?
To thank you for your time and input, the first 260 qualified respondents who complete the survey will receive a $20 iTunes gift card.

to access the survey.
Did you win? If not, what response did you receive?
The survey was from the National Dairy Council. They are interested in finding out the opinions of Fitness Professionals on nutrition topics and in this case whey protein. They do not market to respondents and they definitely aren’t looking for salespeople. The design of the survey was theirs so I cannot speak to its effectiveness but they were pleased with the response from the IDEA community. Jim (from IDEA)
I feel a need to reply to Jason:
if there are questions on a survey where none of the suggested answers apply, and yet no alternative is offered, then I call this a poor design. If I am forced to answer just to preceed in the survey, then the outcome is of no value to the people who commissioned the study.
People (that is me) do understand research, and that is why I called this a poor design.
People need to understand how research and surveys are conducted before saying they are poorly designed. In order to publish any material, these surveys undergo pilot testing prior to sending out to ensure validity. Depending on the funding source, and the objective – will determine the goal of the surgery. You cannot judge it based on the questions you answered because you do not understand the ultimate goal of the research! On your end it may seem as if the survey was not deigned properly or may seem as a marketing scheme. However, I am sure the aim is to gather valuable information regarding the education and knowledge of individuals within the field regarding protein and more specifically whey protein. Although, you will not know the purpose of the survey (which usually remains hidden (or Blinded)) to ensure results are not effected.
Wait and see I am sure something beneficial will come of it!
