Has anyone researched C4 pre-workout? If so, have there been any studies that reveal the safety of the product?

Hello Stacey,

I do not recommend supplements, I never bring up supplements and do not have the authority to speak about supplements. A healthy balanced diet is always the way to go.
Take care.

You may want to do a basic google search on studies conducted.
There are very loose guidelines on most non regulated items.

I tend to agree with Natalie that a balanced diet is preferred but as clients do ask about supplements it is important to at least point them to factual studies. Is there specific question you had regarding an ingredient in C4 or just a general question overall regarding pre-workout energy supplements? There are a lot of “junk/filler” ingredients in C4.

Just a cautionary tale…
I have had more than one client mention to me ‘as soon as X started recommending, talking about or referring to supplements/energy drinks etc. I realized they were talking outside of their expertise…’ This will not elicit confidence in your knowledge.
Not a good way to go for us Fitness Pros. Stick with the knowledge you have that you can back up with solid education, not with ‘I read in blah blah training magazine…’. Most studies of these products are industry sponsored so as far as the facts go there, let the buyer beware.
Telling someone that you do not know the answer to their supplement question and leaving it at that is the most respectful and safest thing you can do. Unless you have an advanced degree in pharmacology and the insurance to back it up that is.

Hi Stacey,

As everyone stated, supplements are ones personal preference and all are not regulated by the FDA so any research done is done independently by that company. There are a few supplement sites that you can Google that offer reviews on supplements but be wary that each supplement affects everyone differently.

I’m not recommended any but there are a few different pre-workout supplements that contain no fillers. I would suggest looking independently into the ingredients that are in C4 and any other supplement you are interested in.

Hope this helps
