this appears to be a question on a test. Don’t you think it would be better if you looked at your study material and then come up with an answer yourself?
I believe you could think this one through. What excuses have you heard from friends and family about why they can’t work out?
“I would go to the gym, but I’m afraid _____________.”
“I would go to the gym, but I can’t _________________.”
There are many stresses that keep our clients away from the gym. Dozens. So I think you can get this right. Whatever test you’re taking might have their opinion on what the “best” answers are, but there are lots of great answers.
Teaching clients to deal with stress is a better approach. We all have stress of some type. Some stress is good, some bad, and all types of stress are necessary for growth and development. Dealing with stress productively is the key. Things like sedentary life style and deconditioned fitness are detrimental to dealing with stress. Getting clients to see the benefit of exercise is not the hard part. Getting them to move past habitual reactions to stress and slowly adjust their lifestyle to incorporate exercise and stress management is the difficult part. Start small, work on becoming consistent, and continually reinforce that set backs are not stopping points.
