Every first session is free. A successful personal training business is built upon successful relationships. That starts with identifying whether or not a client is a suitable match for me as much as it is about whether I am a suitable match for the client. My business revolves around seeing the same clients from a minimum of three to as many as seven times per week. These types of relationships must be built, and that process starts with providing an experience in a first session that causes a client to say, “I can’t wait to come back tomorrow.” My biggest mistake (early on in my 20+ year career) was charging money for a first session and spending the entire first session performing a series of assessments.
