fitness and diet for premenopausal women
Hi Jeanette,
Yes, each individual client will differ with regard to their needs of fitness and diet. This is a great subject and one that really interests me as well. There are numerous resources out there–such as the Mayo Clinic, Metabolic Effect, Huffington Post, etc… I have also done a few CECs on women and hormones, and the information is very helpful in understanding how hormones play a role in, specifically, weight loss. I’ll try to find a few links or articles for you…

Is there a ‘best’? There are a few elements that are probably good for this group, but like any other group members of this group will share membership in other groups as well. So a premenopausal woman who is a competitive runner will be different from a premenopausal woman who is a non exerciser and different again from a premenopausal woman who has an autoimmune condition. That is the beauty, as well as the challenge of those who do ‘personal’ training, or those (like me) who teach mind body, or other disciplines…. each person needs to be seen as a member of a number of groups that meld and interact… and ultimately needs an individualized program.
Hello Jeanette Bebeau,
The best way to go about this is to work with a trainer who will do a consultation to see what is lacking and if doctor’s clearance is needed. After that, a balanced exercise program and balanced diet are the things to do. You may want more detail; but, there are so many options to choose from.
Take care,
Natalie aka NAPS 2 B Fit.
