Of course healthy eating can be done in low budget. There are certain healthy eating meal plans you can create at a reasonable budget. Get the perfect balance of nutrients, minerals and various other vitamins in your diet plan. You can limit your meat intake, include wholes grains, beans, try to buy in-season frozen fruits and vegetables and avoid using manufactured foods. However, to get more details, internet is a great medium to educate about various nutritious foods. For instance, bloggers like Boris Wolfman – http://boriswolfman.co.il/?p=25 – share valuable information on healthy eating in his blog regularly.
Do you have a Costco near you? You can buy top quality frozen greens, fruits (frozen and raw), vegetables (also frozen and raw), nuts, etc. at Costco at well below market prices. The quantity is bigger. But if you plan meals around what you will buy, it is very cost effective. I buy the frozen greens, cook them up in a pot with some veggie boullion and season to my taste. Put it all in a blender (Vitamix kicks bottom, also available at Costco) and turn it into a great soup. Excellent for cool mornings/days depending where you live.
