I am sorry that you are not feeling well.
Every time when you notice something strange during an activity (like a push-up) that you have been doing regularly for a while, it is cause to stop and investigate. A sensation of ‘dizziness like a stroke’ must not be taken lightly, and while it may not have been the push-up itself that caused it, it may be the degree of exertion.
But whatever the speculation, I would go and see a physician as soon as possible. In the meantime, I would stop doing push-ups until cleared to do so again by your doctor.

I would have to agree with the above answers. Those kind of symptoms need to get checked out by a physician. Especially since pushups were exercises that you regularly did. You just want to rule out some conditions and then see if the condition is something simple to get rid of. I would rather be safe than sorry.

I think that it is really awesome of you for being able to connect exercise with the feelings of positivity and goodness. There are just way too many people in this world that are looking for reasons to “not” exercise but NOT YOU, and for that I commend you. Your life, and your health obviously mean a lot to you.
With that being said, even the greatest of medical professionals wouldnt be able to give you an answer to how you feel when you do push ups. I think it’s generally human nature to think of the worst possible scenario first and that can certainly create anxiety. In medical school, it is very common for students to get what is called “medical school syndrome, ” in which they will read about a condition and is related symptoms, and they will begin believing that they are suffering with what they read about. In not saying that is what is happening to you, but just using this as an escape that you really have no idea and what is happy happening with you doesn’t necessarily have to be severe or life-altering. I have had plenty of people of the years that have had difficult times just going from standing to a lying position during workouts without getting dizzy, and we have always used it as an assessment that gets reverted to medical professional who end up giving the thumbs up to exercise.
I know it’s hard, but live knowing that there are many different ways to exercise and challenge yourself and if for some strange reason you are told that you can’t do pushups, this will be a great opportunity for you to find a new way to challenge yourself.
