The cert doesn’t make the coach/instructor. And even though education is very important, education itself is nothing without application. Heart is even more important. And if you love what you do, you never stop learning, applying, and helping.
I tell all of my own students if you are unsure of which cert to start with, start with ACE or ACSM. Then spend time teaching what you know and sampling things that interest you. If you find something that sparks you to act, go for it. Then continue from there.
But if you don’t like what you are doing, move on as soon as possible.
Hello Laura Hopkins,
I am glad that I took the ACE personal training course first. The ACE Health Coach adds to my personal training abilities. The health coach course addresses issues not covered by the personal training course, geared more towards people with obesity.

I cannot imagine that any health coach certification can stand on its own regardless of the context in which you want to provide services.
If it is in the medical field, you would need specific credentials for that. And in the fitness field, your recommendations are usually generically about nutrition (unless you have a credential there) or about exercise. While the ACE Health Coach certification talks about exercise a good deal, it is not specific enough to develop a solid exercise program.
To me, this certification is only complementary to and an integral part of my personal training.
yes, according to me And my experience ACE American Council on Exercise ( Personal trainer) certification would be thes best approach. you will learn, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and best part of this certification they cover very deeply clients behavior Changes and their techniques, Communication, assessment and many more…..
