Does anyone have recommendations for mindfulness or relaxation apps?
I don’t use an app, but one of the things that I’ve found helpful are mindfulness recordings on itunes. I have recommended 10, 20, and 30 minute Yoga Nidra recordings to my clients. Yoga Nidra is one of many forms of guided relaxation, where you relax and draw your awareness to different body parts one at a time. Very relaxing. Very easy for the beginner who isn’t ready to do a “clear the mind” type of meditation.
Hi Michele,
There are many out there, but Calm and Guided Mind are two that I can think of (I believe they may be more meditation oriented).
There is also a Gratitude Journal app. which is helpful for writing daily expressions of thanks (expressing gratitude has been shown to reduce stress and make people happier).
Hope they help!
Christine
Mindfulness is the practice to focus our attention on the recent moment, get away from negative thoughts, and have good relaxation. For a beginner, technology has made it easier to involve in mindfulness practice. There are many handy apps, which can be used anywhere to start this practice. “Calm” https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/calm-meditate-sleep-relax/id571800810?mt… is one such app that has the potential to take you at the level of comfort, make you feel relax and composed by providing soothing calming sounds, natural sceneries and guided sessions. It will certainly bring more clarity in your vision; create moment of joy, and peace of mind into your daily life.
