We just added a Piloxing instructor. The classes are taking hold but not as well as we would have liked at first. The classes are fun (apparently for women; I haven’t seen a single guy) and using good technique really changes the dynamic. We adjust most cardio-boxing-type classes for real world self defense to ingrain the techniques to memory, and that gets people excited to learn, which maintains attendance. (And not everyone needs the weighted gloves, thy’re light but weak shoulders can get hurt from the constant bounding) Anyone can do it and its very easily modified for every member/student. 2 months into it and we are still growing in participation so, I have hopes for this one. I think its catching on, though I’m not really one for the dancing. To each there own.
