Do you think preschoolers need more physical activity in the school curriculum?

Developmentally speaking, I thought that is what “preschoolers” do naturally–play. I don’t know if play time is lacking in the preschool environment.
I remember when my son, who is now sixteen, went to preschool a lot of the learning activities involved playing and after they played they took out their blankets and had a nap.
Too, at that age (3-5) it is challenging to get them to sit for any extended period of time.
