I offer traditional in-person training but I also offer online training. I strongly believe it makes training accessible to a broader group of people and can be extremely effective for a wide range of clients – even beginners and the more advanced. I provide support far beyond the 30 or 60 minutes that I’d be with a client in a gym setting, and there is so much more to personal training that is beyond training a specific movement – this can be addressed very effectively online.
Not everyone is a good fit for online training and a careful, detailed assessment must be performed, but with careful coaching and utilizing all of the tools and resources (particularly Skype and YouTube) the internet has to offer I’ve found it to work wonderfully.
Great question, I personally think there’s going to be a shift to more of this in the near future.
