One complementary training session is used on my clients at their very first session.
I use this session to thoroughly cover my client’s goals, questions, medications, injuries, nutrition.
I also offer more than one complementary session for people who have major medical issues so we can talk a little longer and they can feel more comfortable with me.
And finally, I offer complementary training sessions when a large number of sessions are pre-paid and also for referrals.
Yes, but I do not think of it as a free session.
I use it as an assesment time to talk about a clients past, nutrition, injuries, experiences in the gym and goals. This helps me to create a program unique and perfect for each client.
Its a time for me to show them I am a professional and can help them. People have a hart time buying training because they can “hold” money, but cant “hold” their training. Its the perfect time to show them they are getting a bargain by purchasing time with me.
I give a complimentary session to clients when they’ve reached their weight loss goal (or if its a different specific goal) as long as they’ve been with me at least three months; or if they’ve sent in a referral. It makes them feel good that I show appreciation for their hard work and also for giving me the best compliment a client can give, a referral. Since its not a weekly occurrence I don’t really feel its an inconvenience of my time. I’ve always believed you have to give to receive!
