Do you offer 30 minute workout models? What are the pros and cons?
I used to offer 30minute sessions, but dropped them a few years back. I always felt the sessions were rushed, that there was not enough time to meet the needs of the client and that the clients expected the same results as those that met we me for a full hour. Plus add in prep time and travel time (I do in-home personal training), the money just wasn’t there.
I can see the need for a client such as Karen’s. However if I was to do it now, I’d be sure to set very clear expectations with the client. They can not get the same results as those that meet with you for a full hour (depending on their goals). I’d charge more than just half of an hour session, as Karen noted above. I’d also have them complete a full warm-up prior to my arrival. Any questions or concerns that they had, I would not have as much time to address as I do in an hour session. (I use the warm-up and cool-down time to talk with my clients about these concerns.)
I’m much happier now that I only offer hour sessions and small group.
