No, not at all. I don’t train at the studio I work at, so I’m not viewed as a personal trainer, just a regular chick doing her workout. Honestly, I think it’s cool when people ask me about what I’m doing…I can introduce people to new stuff in a very casual way.
Please know that I never refer people to me or my business during these casual exchanges, I think that’s very bad form.
When I used to train clients at a gym, it was always obvious that I was there as a trainer. Sometimes people asked me while I was with a client, and those inquiries I usually defered until I was available unless it was a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer.
When I had time, though, I was happy to answer any question that was thrown my way. I feel that we can always learn from questions because it may force us to look at something from a new angle.
