Do you have a favorite fitness quote that you like to motivate your clients with?
Sometimes it is about dealing with their de-motivation first. People are so hard on themselves. We are such a judging society. So I like to give my students and clients a little phrase I learned from the book, “Women Who Do Too Much,” by Anne Wilson Schaef. It is for the times we make a mistake or don’t do the right thing- I like to say, “Oh how human of me!”
This phrase always make me smile and reminds me that we are all in the same human boat and nothing we do or don’t do is specific to us. I think self-acceptance is the first baby step of motivation.
Do or do not! There is not try! ~ Yoda
If you want something you have never had, then you have to do something you have never done. ~ Me
“Victory is reserved for those willing to pay its price.”- Sun Tzu
…”I will walk where failures fear to walk. I will work when failures seek rest. I will act now for now is all I have. Tomorrow is the day reserved for the labor of the lazy. I am not lazy. Tomorrow is the day when the failure will succeed. I am not a failure. I will act now. Success will not wait. If I delay, success will become wed to another and lost to me forever. This is the time. This is the place. I am the person.” -Og Mandino
“Your body becomes its function.” – unknnown (but I have been using this for years) If you lay around you look like you lay around…if you move around, you will look like you move around. How do you want to look?
