Do you give gifts to your clients?
Hello! With the Holiday coming up I was thinking of making a litttle something for my clients. It being that as fitness professionals we talk often about good nutirition I was thinking of giving them a little homemade booklet of some of my favorite healthy recipes (all credited to where the credit should go). I am not talking about making them meal plans or anything of that sort since that is not in my scope of practice, but just a nice little book of recipes that are healthy. What do you think? Do you give your clients things for Holidays? What do you give?
Hi Missy,
Yes, I enjoy it and I am in the holiday spirit this year! I used to give a free session when I first started, (like Karin’s birthday gift). Now that my business has picked up a bit, it is getting harder, but I do give a small gift for my long term clients. Usually, I try to make it personal with something small (ex–I have a client who loves/hates burpees and likes coffee, so I got her a coffee mug with the saying “I (heart) Burpees.) Something small and personal to let them know I appreciate them. I enjoy it!
Have fun–and remember it is the thought that counts whatever you decide!
Happy holidays!
Christine
Sometimes, yes. I tend to give larger gifts to people who have been clients for longer and have directly influenced my income.
PT: Every year on my personal training anniversary, I give my long-term members a gift of thanks. Last year, it was a massage certificate (another one of my clients is a massage therapist so we refer each other business) for clients who have been with me five years and above. This year, I’m thinking I’ll give them stretch straps for my 5 years and up clients, which is about a $10 expense, and a massage ball for my two years and up clients about $5.50 each.
Group-ex: I do free classes a couple of times a year, bringing together members from all of the clubs where I work. It’s a free way for me to say thank you to a lot of people at once.
Hi Missy,
I send holiday cards to my clients and make a donation in their honor to a charity.
At one time, I went out to buy something but I have stopped that long ago. My clients to not need/want stuff, and neither do I. For birthdays, though, I give the gift of a free session.
I must confess, I like your idea of a booklet with your favorite recipes. While LaRue is correct with cautioning you, I would probably just get a published cookbook and see what is written there.
