I make them sign up for races for next year. One race more challenging than the other, so they can continue to challenge themselves and stay motivated (both mentally and physically). I don’t offer any type of promotions due to New Year. If someone refers me a new client, they get a free workout no matter what time of the year it is.
no promotions here either. But I plan to discuss strength and weaknesses and will suggest some micro-goals that are so easily achievable that they will start the year in a positive direction.
I tend to talk to my students a lot as we move to the holiday season about how to navigate the conflicting demands of the holidays and staying with their self care and health practices. I also shift the work we do to promote that idea off managing competing demands and stress levels. Once we hit new years I find people flock back and start up in droves. I feel my bigger goal was helping them stay afloat leading up to that.
