I quote a per session rate to those that ask. But I no longer use a set rate for clients that are looking for more than one session or a few sessions. I speak with the client to find out what they are looking for as far as goals/needs. Part of that is asking how much time and how much money they are comfortable putting into their program. I make a proposal as to how they can achieve their goals. The proposal includes the number of workouts/sessions per week and the cost. Their budget determines how much time we spend together and how much time they need to put in on their own. I determine the cost based on my time (billable hours). The more difficult the clients needs are, the more time I need to put into designing their program. These clients are on a month to month program and billing cycle. Every month their program is evaluated and adjusted to keep them moving toward their goals. And the time and cost are all predetermined on an individual basis. Sometimes the client wants to adjust the arrangement. Sometimes I see the need for some adjustments. Either way, we sit down and go over any thing that comes up.
Hello Eric Pelz,
I do not have packages; clients pay the same rate for each session; discounts did not work and only became confusing. Clients choose to pay how it suits them; that is, monthly, weekly, daily. I gift anniversary sessions and Christmas or birthday as a thank you and reward.

I charge based on the program. Some clients I meet with once a month for 90 minutes. Others I see 2 to 3 times a week for an hour each time.
I have people purchase up front. This allows me more leverage with the cancellation policy. I am somewhat flexible with the policy, but I’ve had to enforce it to get people to be more consistent. The policy is as much for me and the client.
