There are certainly those that pursue Body Building as a competitive sport and there are some who just enjoy training like a body builder for the asthetics. Like any sport, to compete requires discipline both in the way one trains and in the way one eats. What makes Body Building so hard is the caloric deficiency required to become lean enough to step on stage and show off the muscles. There are also amateur to professional levels. Like any sport, one can work hard enough to attain a “Pro” card, get sponsored and make a living at the sport. I competed as an amateur in the sport to try it out and accomplish what for me was a difficult goal. After four competitions though, I chose to focus my energy on furthering my group exercise career and I have always been happy to have done so.
