Do any of you offer meal prep for your clients and if yes, how do you go about it? Thanks!

Hi Dawn,

my conversation does not go beyond a recreational exchange of recipes, cooking techniques and a discussion of portion sizes. It is not something I offer as a service.

Hello Dawn Fleer,
No, I do not offer meal prep. What I offer is the general food guidelines to make sure the client eats a balanced diet. We also discuss eating as healthy as possible from whole food sources.
Take care,
Natalie aka NAPS 2 B Fit.

Conversations about food within the context of the mind / body connection always come up. I do share recipes from time to time. My last blog was my recipe for a vegan soup, for instance. But meal prep is even more complex than meal planning. I don’t feel I have the background to be able to make complex decisions that would change client to client based on goals, health histories, current medications, allergies and interactions, and personal taste. Aside from the necessary knowledge there are also issues of insurance and liability. I know my insurance would not cover this. And of course, if one starts preparing the actual food one would also need to do research on local laws regarding food safety requirements for food prep.

I do know of a few studios that offer juice packages. But one is a very large concern and has all the licensure in place, and the other has a deal with an outside company. That seems like an easier business model, assuming one feels comfortable with the company that prepares the food/drink being offered.

I keep it simple and very general. For more specific meal plans I refer them to dietitians.

I do not prepare meals for clients. I do have recipes for quick meal prep and I have a RD in my network for referrals. I occasionally go to clients homes to show them how to organize their food and to educate them on the foods that they are buying. Including grocery store field trips to help them learn how to avoid processed foods/low nutrient density foods, etc.
