I have iron deficiency from a hereditary disease. I always say the more natural the better because then you can’t overdue it and your body absorbs it better. Here are just a few suggestions:
Cooking in a cast iron pan will transfer good usable iron to your food and is safe and very natural.
Eating iron rich foods, such as spinach, beets, broccoli, red peppers, raisins, WITH a vitamin C rich food (such as oranges) will help your body absorb the iron better. I like a green smoothie with spinach, kale, 1/2 orange juice 1/2 water, a banana, chia and hemp seed and a handful of ice. Great way to get a lot of good nutrients but especially iron.
I am so low I do need to supplement as well. The best one I have tried is called Floradix iron +herbs (it’s a liquid), It absorbs really well in your system and it’s the only one that gave my body enough iron. Iron extra from Vitanica Is another good one that I use in addition to Floradix. Of course ask your doctor to make sure you are taking the correct doses.
Hope this helped!
In good health,
