Designing my 1st summer bootcamp! Torn: 4 or 6 weeks? Once or twice a week? Thoughts?
Personally I’d like to do it for four weeks, twice a week, and really get people going with their summer fitness. But part of me wonders how hard it will be for people (women) with kids/jobs to get there twice a week. I’d love some input. As I said, this is my first boot camp, I’m going to be working through the town rec department and really want to make a good impression. =) THANKS!!
Hi Terri. Congrats on your new boot camp! I think that you’ve somewhat already answered one of your own questions. Twice a week meeting in my opinion is a MUST! As you said in your question, this will not only “really get people going,” but I think that it will help keep that momentum from week-to-week.
As for the 4 or 6 weeks format, that’s a more difficult question. I don’t think that there is a magic answer for that one. In my opinion, it’s probably good to start of outlining your program on paper, give some thought to your exercise progression etc. and then based on that, decide whether this fits best in a 4 week or 6 week format. A final consideration may be cost.
