Personally I’d like to do it for four weeks, twice a week, and really get people going with their summer fitness. But part of me wonders how hard it will be for people (women) with kids/jobs to get there twice a week. I’d love some input. As I said, this is my first boot camp, I’m going to be working through the town rec department and really want to make a good impression. =) THANKS!!
I am a firm believer in creating a program that clients will see results and create healthy habits. Therefore, I recommend the six week, twice per week format for your boot camp.
I feel that it’s always good to have clients commit to a ‘challenge’ that is longer to a month. Why?… Because most figure that they can do a month of camp with ease, and six weeks is more of a challenge. Good to throw in the word ‘Challenge’ too. All fitness enthusiasts love a good challenge.
The Two days per week format will be good for the campers who are using your camp to supplement their current routines, as well as the camper that only comes to your camp and no other exercise.
Either way it is all about testing your market and seeing what will work best for your clients and your business. Best wishes, I am sure that you will do well.

With an increase of classes would let more people have more choices about being able to get in which is especially important for summer months. Its a time of year where a client can take off for one or two weeks on vacation. A 6 week course would mean they’d miss a 3rd of it instead of a half.
Second supporting argument is that its the gym. They more time people put into it the greater results they will be able to see.
I have done an 8 week bootcamp 4 days a week. I know it seems like a huge time commitment but people see the best results from a longer time commitment. If you only go once a week it is more like a class they can drop into and won’t see a huge benefit from necessarily. If you are looking to create something for yourself to be profitable from more days a week and at least a 2 month commitment that way people will see results and want to keep going back to you if they get the results they want.
My classes are usually 8-10 weeks long, 5 days a week, but I think for you 6 weeks its a good period since it will give them enough time to get in shape. I have found out that many of the working women (with or without kids) prefer an early class, a 530 or 6 am. This way they can be back at home by the time their kids are up and it also gives them enough time to get ready for work. And it’s early enough that the dads can help as well. I offer a 530 am class twice a week for those who want to come that early.
If you are looking to make a good impression, nothing makes a good impression like results. Results take time and commitment. I would recommend at least 6 weeks and a minimum of twice a week, 3 day a week would be better. Good luck and have fun. Done right, Boot Camps are a fun, exciting and very rewarding endeavor!
