Currently studying for my CPT and would like to hear from trainers: How do you personally deal with burnout?
Hi Lynn,
when I first started training, I was so eager to get clients that I was ready to train at any time of day and almost anywhere the client wanted. It did not take very long for me to recognize that that neither worked nor even made financial sense.
On the other hand: I had to go through this learning experience to understand what worked and what did not. And since I was not overrun with clients at the start of my training, ‘burnout’ was really not an issue.
Later on, though, it became necessary that I set boundaries when I am available for training. As I train out of my home, I have ‘me’ time the moment I leave the studio. I have enough time for my dog, my husband and myself (random order :-). Over time, you will find what works for you.
I wish you the best of luck at the start of your career.
